Goal #1: Becoming more confident with my ideas and lessons.
1. In order to reach this goal, I plan on enrolling in Prof. Lecklider’s Leadership Class in the spring of 2014 to assist me in my development to gain confidence. I hope to be able achieve my Leadership Certificate through Butler University before I graduate in the Spring of 2015; in addition to, becoming initiated into Kappa Delta Pi (KPD). In addition, I will be a co-captain of the Butler University Varsity Volleyball team in the Fall of 2013. This experience will allow me to truly institute my “underdeveloped” leadership skills.

- (2) This proficiency will be met by allowing me to develop my communication skills with the community and district. If there is a problem, I want to be able to speak out without hesitation whether it’s parents, my students, or other faculty members. I believe I can achieve this through the leadership courses.
Goal #2: Develop strong, engaging lesson plans to include the various types of intelligences within my classroom that further leaves an impact in my student’s learning experience.

In both Blocks A and B, I will reflect and observe the multiple ways to reach out to different learners in all subject matters (ED303W, ED316, ED416, ED308W, ED414, ED317, and ED418). Goal #3: Immediately establish a sense of community and connectedness within the classroom and their
1. In order to reach this goal, I intend to become a camp counselor this summer at Spring Hill Camps. There I will be able to work with different groups of girls each week to try to establish a sense of community within my various units. I can translate the community building activities I perform with my campers into my classroom and students. I will be able to learn from my mistakes from the previous week and adapt them for my next group.

(Core Value: Appreciation of Diversity and Similarities)
3. (1) As both a counselor and a teacher, it’s crucial to establish healthy, trusting, and caring relationships with my campers and students. A connected community is the key to successful lessons. Through this experience I will be able to set a positive foundation to each school year.
(2) This proficiency will be met by me experiencing multiple weekly situations in which I must gather a group of diverse adolescents and transfer each personality into one organized, functioning unit. Getting students to understand that everyone comes from different backgrounds, races, genders, cultures, etc., is critical for establishing a prosperous, successful classroom. I believe that camp counselor will help me to fully meet this goal.
