“There really is an app for everything,” was a statement commonly heard within our 50 minutes of presenting. I feel like our presentation was more relatable to people rather than some of the other topics I saw when walking around the room. Seeing the reactions on people’s faces from Aurasma was priceless and rewarding. I learned that people need to know the benefits advantages of each application they have on their modern-day technologies because the sky is really the limit.
I really enjoyed hearing and seeing Brian Schultz. That man has not only changed the small community of Cabrini Green in Chicago, but also institutions and headlines around the country. His book was inspirational and has helped set a foundation for my teaching core values. I strive to positively impact and inspire even a quarter of the people he has affected in my lifetime of teaching.
Overall, I feel that as a group we worked very well together. Eric and I made the board into a Licorice Castle Extraordinaire! Eric also wanted to take control of Aurasma because he was the most familiar with the application. Jean Ann and Kendall found the videos for Skype, Facebook, etc. Eric and I found the list of Top 10 Paid Apps and Top 10 Free Apps, which was the star attraction at our table. I would love to visit the 245 Poster Session next year to learn all of the new innovations that arise in 2013!
