Common applications such as “Mindtools” are very beneficial when discussing technology and teaching. Students must be familiar with databases, word processors, and spreadsheets in order to get by in our society. People use these programs, databases, and processors in their everyday life. Teachers should integrate classroom lesson plans in accordance with modern technology because the results are endless and supreme. In Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy, we learned that teachers need to be teaching the content at a level in which student will understand it. For example, they shouldn't be using outdated computers with Word 1998. They should have iPads, perhaps, with Word 2012 and an attached keyboard. It just makes sense. This enhances the students’ learning ability and helps them better retain the information. Unfortunately, there are certain aspects of Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy that are seen in a negative light. Students don’t feel the personal relationship they would have received if they were in a classroom setting. Also, students might not be able to attain the proper technology required for the assignment. The Google+ Hangout suggested that more technologies be present in classrooms. Overall, there may be some obstacles with adding new technology to classrooms, but in the end both students and teachers will benefit and learn more.
